The resort has transformed into a modern winter wonderland, offering traditional onsens, Michelin Star restaurants, lively bars, and renowned powder snow, making it a premier destination for winter sports enthusiasts worldwide.

WHY DOES JAPAN GET SO MUCH SNOW?

During winter, cold air masses from Siberia blow toward Japan, picking up moisture from the Sea of Japan in the process. The wet cold air collides with the mountains along the Sea of Japan coast, resulting in heavy snowfall. Some areas experience extreme amounts of precipitation with snow depths of three to six meters.

But that’s not the only reason you’ll fall in love with it. In the land of the rising sun you’ll discover culture and hospitality like nowhere else.
